8AAAA Quarterfinal
#4 Sartell 3, #5 Elk River 1 (27-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-12): Abby Haus dropped in 19 kills from the front row, supported by Ellie Rengel with 16 and Brenna McClure’s 13. Everyone played tough defense. Avery Templin had 28 digs. Three other players had at least 15. The Sabres advance to a match on Tuesday at Rogers, the top seed in the section.

#2 ROCORI 3, #7 Becker (25-18, 25-10, 25-11): The Spartans allowed the Bulldogs to hang around in the first set before finally settling in and pulling away late. That momentum carried forward, as they put together long scoring runs in frames two and three. Jenna Rausch was the primary attacker from the middle blocker position early on. Kate Holthaus came on as the match continued, contributing a long service run in the third set, which featured several aces. ROCORI hosts #3 Alexandria Tuesday. Ava Hirschfeld recorded her 1,000th career assist in set two.
#4 Sauk Rapids-Rice 3, #5 St. Cloud Tech 0 (28-26, 25-22, 25-13): Ava Athman and Lexi Helmin were a dual threat, recording 14 and 13 kills respectively. They were nearly identical in blocks on the defensive end. Athman had five whereas Helmin had four. Athman also provided 22 digs, complemented by 16 from Jordyn Lee. Katelyn Anderson and Aubrey Marketon were the primary setters. The Storm play at #1 Detroit Lakes on Tuesday.

#4 Cathedral 3, #13 Royalton 0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-13): The Crusaders cruise in the second round. Kayla Sexton paced Cathedral with 19 digs and 11 kills. Sydney Wahlin and Olivia Prom had 12 digs. Cathedral’s other primary offensive threats was Ellie Voth (9 kills) and Olivia Prom (8 kills).
#5 Milaca 3, #12 Pierz 1 (24-26, 25-20, 25-23, 25-21): The Wolves meet Cathedral in the second round.

#3 CEC 3, St. Cloud Tech 1: Amin Yusuf tied the match at one in the second half for the Tigers before Cloquet-Esko-Carlton put it away with goals from Collin Young and Jordan Aultman. Elijah Aultman netted the only goal before the intermission.
