(KNSI) – As the saying goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

A store run by the City of St. Cloud helps put the adage into practice. The St. Cloud Recycled Art Project Shop, or SCRAPS, sells various forms of refuse to area artists for only five dollars per grocery bag.

The hope is that there are some gems in the SCRAPS heap and they can be repurposed into a unique treasure that you might find on Etsy or at a local fair or festival in the future. All proceeds go directly back into the program to help fund the sourcing of new materials.

The store has just moved into the St. Cloud City Hall on 7th Street and is open on Fridays only, beginning at 9:00 a.m. In order to have supplies available for potential buyers, SCRAPS needs donations of various art and craft materials.

There are several items the store does not need, including cardboard, egg cartons, food containers, plastic containers, shoeboxes, and Styrofoam.
