(KNSI) – Bat Out of Hell makes its triumphant return to the St. Cloud area next weekend.
The shows are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21st, and Saturday, the 22nd, at Cathedral High School. They mark the first performances of Bat Out of Hell in five years.
The productions are closer to plays than tribute concerts and Music Director Alex Maiers says that requires more performers than a traditional show.
“When you normally see a band, you have anywhere from three to six people on stage. We have 18 doing the orchestration justice…having full strings, brass, enough vocalists to form a choir.”
Singer Grant Haake brings Meat Loaf to life. Well-known local performers like Janelle Kendall are also involved.
The two did a Meat Loaf tribute show in Los Angeles recently. They were both involved with the production’s first run five years ago. Kendall says the new shows will top the initial performances.
“I would say the experience that we’ve all had since, because it’s all professional musicians across the board, I think we’re even better prepared for this than we were at that first run,” she says.
Proceeds benefit the music and arts programs. The crew appeared Thursday morning on KNSI with Bob Hughes. Tickets can be purchased by scanning a QR code with your phone. A link to the poster is in the ‘Connect’ section of this website.
