(KNSI) — The Minnesota Department of Transportation is closing Interstate 94 near Albertville Wednesday night.
MnDOT says the road will go down to one lane just west of County Road 19, and traffic will be routed off of I-94 at Exit 201. Drivers will be routed onto a local access road and then back onto the freeway. The closure is expected from 7:00 p.m. through 3:00 a.m. Thursday and transportation officials say there may be significant backups and delays due to the high traffic volume, and drivers should plan for an alternate route.
The closure is so crews can pour the deck seal on the I-94 bridge over County Road 19.
