Sports Wrap: Thursday Volleyball Results, Cathedral’s Boys Soccer Coach Gets Win #100

High School Volleyball

Tech 3, Apollo 0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-17): The Tigers got off to a slow start in the first set but clawed back to make it 13-15 before rattling off 12 of the last 14 points. They rode the momentum to a comfortable Set Two victory and finished it off with a hard-fought sweep. Tech had 15 aces, led by Linzi Loesch and Mattie Vought with four each. Maddie Baker and Grace Ciarrochi had seven kills a piece.

Sartell 3, Fergus Falls 0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-15): Ellie Rengel led the charge for the Sabres, picking up 10 kills, 15 digs, and three aces.

Boys’ High School Soccer

Cathedral 3, Minnewaska 0: The Crusader win marked the 100th victory of Cathedral coach Alex Hess’s career. Hess graduated from the school in 2007.

Sauk Rapids-Rice 2, ROCORI 1: Garret Broman and Sam Olmscheid scored for the Storm. Cooper Godwin and Parker Weirens notched assists for Sauk Rapids, which picked up its first win of the year.

Tech 1, Alexandria 1: The Cardinals struck first in the 32nd minute. Otto Anderson registered the goal on an assist from Jack Carlson. The Tigers tied it with the game’s final tally in the 51st minute.
