(KNSI) – Students in the Sauk Rapids-Rice School District will be returning to their classrooms later this month.
All students are in distance learning through January 15th, but pre-K through fifth grade students won’t have class on the 14th and 15th to prepare for in-person learning on January 19th.
A hybrid learning model for sixth through 12th grades will start on the 19th, too. Full-time in-person learning for secondary school students will start with grades 6 and 9 on February 1st, and everyone back in school buildings on February 2nd. Those students won’t have class on the 15th and 29th to help staff accommodate the learning model change.
The district says the in-person learning model will continue past February 2nd until or unless a more restrictive model is needed due to COVID-19 data from Benton County Public Health and the Minnesota Department of Health.
District Learning Family Choice students should not see any changes to their schedule, except for coinciding days off from school on January 15th and 29th for secondary school students.
The Sauk Rapids-Rice Board of Education and district officials met Thursday night to approve the learning model changes.
