(KNSI) — Saturday, September 3rd, is National Cinema Day, and many theaters are offering $3 admission on that day to celebrate.
Locally, the Marcus Parkwood Cinema in Waite Park, Quarry Cinema in Cold Spring, the Emagine Entertainment Theater in Monticello and St. Michael 15 Cinema will be participating. Some theater chains may even be offering deals on concessions.
National Cinema Day is a push to get moviegoers back into theaters following the COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns and compete with films on numerous streaming services. Experts say it may not be enough to erase the millions lost by theaters because of the pandemic, but it’s a fun way for families to spend time together over the long holiday weekend.
