(KNSI) – Motorists in St. Cloud should be prepared for a significant increase in the number of pedestrians crossing 1st/2nd Street North on the edge of downtown.
One of the area’s busiest parking lots was closed early Monday for maintenance work. With the judicial area off limits, the city is asking people to use the Railway Lot instead, next to Simonson Lumber.
On most days, the Railway Lot sees only a handful of vehicles parked there. The Judicial Lot has 46 stalls, significantly more than the 30 in the Railway Lot. Its closure will push the Railway Lot to capacity, or near it, to compensate.
There is temporary parking on several streets in the area through the ParkMobile app, the Plaza Lot near the courthouse, and two parking garages to use as alternatives as well.
