(KNSI) – Another player is entering the St. Cloud chicken wars.
Slim Chickens is coming to 4181 2nd Street South, in the parking lot of the former Shopko store.
Letnes Restaurant Group Marketing and Beverage Manager Jolene Chatfield told KNSI News they are very excited to open in St. Cloud and are looking to hire a general manager. She says it will be their second store after Mankato.
Chatfield says Slim Chickens is a fast-casual restaurant with dine-in and drive-thru service. Their menu includes chicken tenders, chicken wings, shakes, salads and sandwiches. An opening date for the St. Cloud store has not been set.
Slim Chickens will be the fourth fast food chicken joint to open in the city in recent years. Chick-fil-A opened in St. Cloud in 2016. They were followed by Popeyes Chicken and Raising Canes in 2021.
Slim Chickens has expanded to more than 180 restaurants since opening its first location in Arkansas in 2003.
