(KNSI) – The Rox season ended Monday night with a 3-2 loss to Willmar in the first round of the playoffs. St. Cloud’s leading hitter, John Nett, hit a shallow pop fly to right as the tying run stood at third base. Jack Steil had reached after being hit by a pitch to lead off the frame.

Even after being swept, St. Cloud retains the second-best record in the league at 50-20. It is the second year in a row the team got to 50 wins, which has never been done before by any Northwoods squad.

Several individual players had record-breaking performances on the diamond this season. John Nett set a team record with 78 runs scored. He plays his college ball at Saint Cloud State University, which also calls the Municipal Athletic Complex home.

Charlie Condon had 68 RBI’s, also a team record. He was the only player to get over 60 in the league, powered by seven home runs and 18 doubles.
