(KNSI) — A South Haven man is accused of threatening tow truck employees, leading police on a high-speed chase, and drunk driving.

Officials say Kurtis Scott Grossinger called the employees numerous times on August 5th and threatened to kill and assault them and their families. One victim says a green truck had recently driven through his property and damaged some of his corn crops.

Court records show calls to the tow truck company are set to go to a driver’s private phone if it’s after hours. Police say the calls all came from a number traced back to Grossinger. Officers say he has several felony warrants for his arrest, including a charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

While police were talking to one of the victims, they say the 32-year-old Grossinger allegedly called another worker’s phone and sounded drunk, used racial slurs, and wasn’t making any sense. A short time later, deputies say a truck, fitting the description of the suspect’s, was seen pushing down corn on the victim’s property.

Deputies attempted to stop the truck but say the Grossinger fled, leading them on a chase that lasted more than ten miles. They say speeds reached over 100 miles an hour. The truck eventually broke down, and officers arrested Grossinger.

He has been charged with two felony counts of making threats of violence, fleeing police, and drunk driving.
