(KNSI) – Kyle Waytashek of Sauk Rapids is putting his interest in technology to use, starting a business after he graduated from high school in 2020 that has become an invaluable service for vulnerable seniors. He is co-owner of Kyle’s360Tech with Blaze Campina and Camden Cipala. He says all three co-owners have a disability, which Waytashek says is inspiring in its own right.
Waytashek says he is happy to mentor customers in addition to solving equipment problems. Waytashek quickly identified the situation surrounding one of his first customers as fraud.
“This person, he was trying to send pictures with gift cards so I’m like, ‘So, why are you trying to send gift cards? and he was like, ‘Well, I’m talking to this girl overseas and I think she wants like a birthday gift.’ So I found out that this guy was actually getting scammed. I was also able to help him remove a virus that this person had implanted on his computer.”
Waytashek says he operates under the principle of doing right for his customers like they are his own family.
Waytashek’s company has gotten assistance from the incubator at Saint Cloud State University. He also credits his father, who is an entrepreneur as well. Already, there are plenty of success stories, including Craig Gondeck of Rice.
“He sells bike parts. He’s trying to get out of the business because he’s trying to retire. And then he has this garage, at least the size of a normal two-stall garage, maybe a three-stall garage just packed to the brim with these bike parts and he didn’t know what to do with them. So, I’ve been able to help him sell at least 10-grand worth of bike parts off of Ebay and I’ve allowed him to retire with that in mind.”
Waytashek says the business will soon be moving beyond just repair and advice. He owns a 3-D printer which will allow for small-scale manufacturing. The first products are components for medical devices.
