(KNSI) – A local boy scout troop is hosting an afternoon filled with outdoor activities during the second annual Scout Fun Day at Warner Lake County Park.

Scout Fun Day Committee Chair Don Wade says the event is for kids in kindergarten to 12th grade and you don’t have to be a scout to have fun.

“Scout fun day, even though it sounds very scouting, is actually open to all kids in South St. Cloud, Clearwater, Clear Lake area and the surrounding communities. We’re trying to get kids outdoors doing scouting things but they don’t have to be in scouts.”

He says all the kids participating will have fun as if they were at scout camp.

“We will have archery, BB guns, nerf axe throwing, lots of crafts, some hiking and general outdoor events that we would see at a scout camp. We just wanted to share with the community kids.”

There are also door prizes available for families. The free event is from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Officials ask people to register their children ahead of time so the scouts can get a head count. To register, click here.
