(KNSI) — The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find who has been burglarizing the Knife River gravel pit.
Authorities say they have taken three separate theft reports this year from the pit, located roughly 11 miles north of Little Falls. Two of those reports have come in the last two weeks, with the most recent on Monday.
A press release from the sheriff’s office says a work trailer at the gravel pit was broken into, and multiple tools were stolen. Investigators say they believe the theft happened between 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 15th, and 6:30 a.m. July 18th.
Sheriff Shawn Larsen said, “Our office relies heavily on tips from the public, so we can ensure that these people that are out victimizing others can be held accountable. Just like with any suspicious activity, try to get a description of the person and/or vehicle to include a license plate number, without putting yourself in harms way. Many investigations are solved with the communities’ help, which is greatly appreciated by our office.”
Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in or near the gravel pit area is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 320-632-9233.
