(KNSI) — A 79-year-old woman is dead, and another man is in jail following a crash near Little Falls.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Shirley Friebe of Eagle Bend was driving east on Highway 27 near Highway 238 just after noon on Tuesday when she was hit head-on by 33-year-old Logan Klooster, who was driving west on 27.

The initial state patrol crash report does not say alcohol was involved, but jail records show Klooster is being held in the Morrison County jail pending charges of third-degree DWI and criminal vehicular homicide. Klooster was wanted on two warrants at the time of the crash, including one for DWI. He also has numerous convictions for speeding, driving with no license, driving after revocation, and underage drinking and driving.
