Why broadcasting: I grew up in the twin cities surrounded by music and radio. It was always on in the house, in the car, wherever we were. I would play radio with my tapes and records as a kid, and after having the opportunity to do a show called Rock and Roll Homeroom on Rev 105 when I was in high school, I was hooked.
Memorable career moment: Covering the 35W bridge collapse in 2007, covering the Republican National Convention in 2008, working for WCCO Radio in Minneapolis, being named as News Director for KNSI, and being part of two news teams that have earned prestigious broadcast awards. I feel fortunate every day to be able to tell your stories, and that’s the biggest highlight of all.
Personal motto: “Do nothing I cannot defend.” Jim Lehrer
When I am not watching or reporting the news, I enjoy: Sports (especially baseball and football), traveling, doing theater, and laughing.
My favorite non-news or reporting obsession: Probably watching baseball. When the World Series ends, I usually pace around my house, not knowing what to do with myself. Then I remember several weeks of football are left. After that’s over, it’s baseball time again. And then I feel better.

Why broadcasting: I have always loved radio. I grew up in Metro Detroit and used to walk home from school in the spring with Ernie Harwell calling Tigers games from Florida. It’s always stuck with me.
Memorable career moment: My coverage of a fire in the Village of Calumet, MI got picked up by the Detroit Free Press and was seen by over a quarter million people in under two days.
Personal motto: If it’s not broke, break it anyway.
When I am not watching or reporting the news, I enjoy: Baseball. Other sports too, but baseball is my passion. I used to have Tigers season tickets. I was lucky enough to go to the first two games of the World Series in 2006.
My favorite non-news or reporting obsession: Reading. Especially crime and mystery novels.

Why broadcasting: I’ve always wanted to get paid just for being me. I love to talk and learn new things. News and radio seemed like a perfect fit.
Memorable career moment: Covering Minnesota native Adam Thielen at Vikings training camp in 2014. We got to spend the weekend in Mankato to interview Thielen and other players. I was working in Thielen’s hometown of Detroit Lakes for 1340 KDLM (also owned by Leighton Broadcasting).
Personal motto: To thy own self be true. Always choose love.
When I am not watching or reporting the news, I enjoy: Watching and following college and pro football. My favorite teams are the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Gophers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
My favorite non-news or reporting obsession: Getting outdoors. I love hunting, fishing and camping.
