(KNSI) – Central Minnesota’s “Heavenly Little Ride” is back on Sunday, July 17th.
Cyclists in the Tour of Saints have three different distances to choose from. Each route begins and ends at the College of Saint Benedict. Director Michael Doyle says you can select your distance on the day of the event.
“If they are not feeling that good that day and don’t want to ride that far, they can just go on the 18-mile route, which goes up and down the Lake Wobegon Trail from St Joseph to Avon and back. Or the 35- and 50-mile routes are on roadways,” says Doyle.
Riders interested in participating in the Tour of Saints have until July 14th to save by registering in advance. A link to the event’s website is here.
Director Michael Doyle says same-day registration is also available. Proceeds go to help an organization dedicated to improving area trails.
“The Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota is a co-producer with me and also the event is something that’s a benefit for the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. And that’s a statewide organization that supports bicycling and bicycling infrastructure.”
Doyle stresses that the Tour of Saints is not a race and you don’t have to be an expert to take part. Time is not kept and there is no winner recognized. It is simply a celebration of the sport.
