(KNSI) – The St. Cloud VA Health Care System has been honored as a 2022 Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award winner.
It is the sixth time the St. Cloud VA has earned the distinction. The award recognizes organizations that are mindful of their impact on the environment. The VA was given high marks for its recycling programs, waste reduction, paper conservation, green purchasing, laundry water reuse, LED lighting, renewable energy systems, electric utility vehicles and use of green space for healthy activities. The award is one of 25 given out each year.
The award was given by Practice Greenhealth, an organization dedicated to environmental sustainability in health care.
The St. Cloud campus was also recognized with three Circle of Excellence Awards. The awards are for energy use, handling waste and water use. The St. Cloud VA has also received the Greening the OR Recognition Award.
According to a press release, award winners are leading the industry with innovation in sustainability-and have the data and documentation to prove their success.
