(KNSI) – June Dairy Month wraps up with a look at the last of four Stearns County Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalists. Previously highlighted was Hailey Frericks of Albany. Her twin sister Kallie is also in the running. Kallie says she almost missed the announcement.
“I was sitting in the living room with my family and it was really cool because my twin sister is actually running for Princess Kay of the Milky Way too. So, her name got announced and I was just so happy I didn’t care what happened after that,” Kallie says.
Both Hailey and Kallie will have their likenesses carved out of butter to be displayed at the Minnesota State Fair. Kallie is already fleshing out a plan for what she is going to do with her chunk.
“A lot of people don’t know this but I kind of raise sweet corn on the side. So I’m thinking I might have a sweet corn feed with family and friends, and maybe open it up to the community. But, as soon as we cross that bridge I am sure my sister and I will find something really cool to do with it.”
The winner will be crowned just before the Minnesota State Fair in August.
