(KNSI) – The Lemonade Art Fair and Concert is back on the campus of Saint Cloud State University. The festival helps to kick off Granite City Days, a relationship that Dean of Students Jen Sell Matzke coins as a win-win.
“The opportunity to partner? I believe it was a mutual decision to try to create that collaboration and synergy around two very successful opportunities.”
Roughly 150 vendors will have a variety of pieces set up throughout campus. Sell Matzke says some are local, but most are located across the state or even the rest of the Midwest. This year there is a new self-guided tour of the different art installations permanently installed on campus.
Hourly performances will occur on the World Commons Stage and at 7:30 tonight the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra will kick off Granite City Days with an outdoor concert of its own at the Atwood Center Mall.
It’s a true community event. Family-friendly activities are sponsored by the Paramount Center for the Arts and the Great River Children’s Museum. Sell Matzke says this year will be back to normal.
“Last year we were able to pull the event off with a couple of weeks’ notice, post-COVID. So, this year we are saying that the event will be back similar to other years, and we expect attendance and participation to be back at pre-COVID levels.
