(KNSI) – After a two-year hiatus, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud presented its annual Good Samaritan Awards.

The winners are Chuck and Pat Ernst and PAM’s Auto in St. Cloud. The Ernsts are volunteers with Catholic Charities. Since 1996, Chuck has been volunteering at the emergency shelter. Pat has been helping with the tax assistance program and was a key member in starting the program. Both are math professors at St. Cloud State University. They’re members of Christ Church Newman Center.

A press release from Catholic Charities says PAM’s Auto owners, Pat and Tamara Huesers and Mike and Jeny Meyer, have been steadfast supporters; volunteering for Mardi Gras and sponsors since 2012. The Huesers and Meyers have also hosted food drives, established a vegetable garden at Catholic Charities Youth House, and fundraised for youth experiencing homelessness in the St. Cloud area.

Award winners are recognized for following the example of the biblical Good Samaritan by helping the less fortunate without expecting anything in return.

The three couples were honored during a recent Good Samaritan Awards Dinner and Reception.
