(KNSI) – A fire broke out in the kitchen of a St. Cloud group home Friday afternoon, just after 12:30. Flames were kept to the one room but they were strong enough to mar the stovetop, a microwave, and cabinets before being extinguished. Smoke damage was more extensive, spreading throughout the building.
No residents or firefighters were injured because of the fire, but it cause an estimated $20,000 in damage and displaced four people. The St. Cloud Fire Department says the blaze is believed to be accidental in nature.
The residence is located in the 1400 block of 12th Avenue North. Mayo Ambulance and St. Cloud Health and Inspections also responded to the incident.
