(KNSI) – The kickoff to the inclusive playground project fundraising drive brought in nearly $13,000 on Sunday. Held at the Blue Line Bar in Sartell from 2:00 to 5:00, there was a 50/50 raffle, a grill raffle, and other activities.

Sartell Lions Club Treasurer Marcia Ringstrom characterized it as a good start. The overall goal is to bring in $400,000 to replace the current equipment at Sartell Lions Community Park and turn it into an inclusive playground, something that could become a regional hub for kids of different physical abilities.

A golf outing is planned in July. In addition, donations are being accepted online through a gofundme page and by check. The club encourages you to make the check out to The Waters Church with “Sartell Lions Playground” written in the memo line. The church’s address is 1227 Pine Cone Road North, Sartell, MN 56377.

The Sartell chapter is teaming up with counterparts from St. Stephen and LeSauk for the campaign.
