(KNSI) – Money Magazine has ranked Saint John’s University and the College of Saint Benedict highly on its Best Colleges in America 2022 list. The schools stand out regionally and across the country.

For the Midwest, Saint John’s is 10th, the second-best mark among all Minnesota institutions. Saint Benedict ranks 13th, in fourth place statewide. St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota in the Twins Cities also rate well.

Saint John’s University and the College of Saint Benedict both place in the top 50 nationwide. Money Magazine ranked a total of 671 colleges.

The periodical’s rating system was updated for this year. Schools are graded in three general categories. To determine quality of education, Money used graduation rates. Metrics to determine affordability include the net price of a degree after grants and scholarships, how much students are required to borrow to get a degree, and the percentage of student loans that are repaid. Lastly, it looked at outcomes, considering median earnings, the percentage of graduates who are working, and the share of alumni making more than the typical high school graduate.
