(KNSI) – A Sartell Middle School student is on his way to the National History Bee’s Middle and Elementary School National Championship. Sixth-grader Isaac Knoernschild is one of nine students from the Midwest who qualified for a spot in the competition.
In February, Isaac took an online test to advance to the regional competition at the University of Minnesota. He competed in three preliminary rounds, with each round consisting of 35 advanced-level history questions. The national competition is also a live question and answer session. In June, he will compete for the national title in Orlando, Florida.
Isaac is the son of Nathan Knoernschild and Ellen Wolter of Sartell.
