(KNSI) — The man accused of two drive-by shootings in 2020 was sentenced Thursday.
Court records say Jeremiah Torke was robbed while selling drugs and retaliated by peppering homes in the 1500 block of 2nd Street North and 10th Avenue South with around a dozen bullets in total. No one was injured.
Torke is already in jail for eight years at the Saint Cloud Prison for a Willmar house party shooting in 2019. The man who was hit survived. He was sentenced for that crime in November 2020.
Torke got three years after agreeing to a plea deal, which dropped three of the four charges against him. Judge Mary Mahler set the term as consecutive to his current jail stint. It is in addition to what has already been handed out against Torke.
Mahler also sentenced Torke for attempting to sell over 28 grams of methamphetamine the same week he committed the drive-bys. The man who purchased the narcotics for $700 was a confidential informant and turned over the meth to police.
For the drug charge, Torke was sentenced to 103 months, being served concurrently with the Willmar term.
