(KNSI) –

UPDATE (12:48 PM): Stearns County officials say that Warner Lake has reopened.

Stearns County Parks Department is doing another prescribed burn today, the third in a little over a week. This time it is at Warner Lake County Park, which has closed the facility.

Controlled burns are used to eliminate fuel for potential future wildfires, including kindling, brush, and undergrowth. Clearing out the old growth allows for younger, more vibrant plants to take its place.

Warner Lake County Park will reopen when the burn is complete.
