(KNSI) – Sartell High School is enjoying being graded itself, rather than being the evaluator. US News and World Report says the school is 18th best in all of Minnesota and number one in the Saint Cloud metro area.

The magazine used six criteria to develop its rankings. Sartell stood out thanks to excellent standardized test scores. Two-thirds of the student body is proficient in math, compared to 40% statewide. Reading and science also come in well above average.

Sartell students are ready for college. Roughly half have taken an Advanced Placement exam and 35% have passed. US News takes that information to compute its College Readiness Index. Sartell came in 43rd in the state with a score of 38.6 out of 100.

The last factor is graduation rate. 96% of Sartell students eventually walk across the stage in cap and gown.
