(KNSI) — The search is on for a suspect in the murder of a ten-year-old girl in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Police there say Iliana Peters’ father notified them about 9:00 Sunday night when his child, who goes by Lily, visited her aunt but hadn’t come home. Lily’s bike was found in the woods near a walking trail between her aunt’s house and the Leinenkugel Brewery.

K9 teams and a drone were used to search for her. Her body was found about 9:15 Monday morning, and police say evidence at the scene suggests the fourth grader was murdered.

Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matthew Kelm is urging the public to be vigilant as there is no one in custody, and the suspect may be a danger to the public. He is encouraging parents to pick up and drop off their kids at sch00l for the time being. Officers will be stepping up patrols in that city and especially around schools at pick up and drop off times.
