(KNSI) – Lingering winter weather is hampering golf courses from getting the 2022 season into full swing, but it hasn’t been able to derail it entirely. Area courses are taking very different tacks on how to roll out successfully for the spring.

Rice’s Oakhill Golf Club has been open for nearly two weeks, sort of. A steady churn of mixed precipitation has forced staff to take things day by day. Tee time availability has been at the whim of Mother Nature.

Other courses have held off on letting the public back on the links. Blackberry Ridge Golf Club in Sartell is opening today and cart usage will be phased in throughout the weekend. Saint Cloud Country Club is in the middle of an extensive renovation of its building. The pro shop and other wings of the facility have slowly been getting back to normal, and the course will be accessible again on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, the abnormally cool weather isn’t ready to leave just yet. After tomorrow the mercury will be stuck below normal until early may at least.
