(KNSI) – The United States Department of Transportation has extended its mask mandate until May 3rd, affecting more than just airports. Metro Bus also falls under DOT’s purview.
The requirement applies to everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Only three classes of people are exempt: Children under the age of two, individuals with health disabilities that make masking difficult or impossible, and workers where masking could potentially hamper them in their jobs as defined by OSHA regulations.
Masks can be filtered, or just cloth, but they must cover both the nose and mouth of the person wearing them. Metro Bus says it provides masks to customers who do not have their own.
