(KNSI) — An investigation is underway to find two pilots connected to a strange incident Saturday.
Someone called the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office to report a possible plane crash near the intersection of County Road 17 and 147th Avenue in Holding Township. Police and Holdingford Fire and Rescue responded to the scene but found no crash.
Investigators spoke with area residents who told them they saw a black plane and a blue plane flying low to the ground. One person said the blue plane “buzzed” their neighbor’s house, which was not uncommon. They also said they didn’t believe the planes crashed.
Community members, a local volunteer pilot, Holdingford Fire and Rescue, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Civil Air Support, and Mayo Ambulance checked nearby landing strips and the surrounding area where the planes were last seen but found no plane crashes.
Police started calling local pilots to see if they were safe and asked if they knew who may have been flying the planes.
Anyone with information should contact the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
