(KNSI) — America’s pastime is helping to ensure the future at the Stearns History Museum. A game scheduled for Friday, June 24th, will contribute to a new endowment for the facility’s archival program.

The Farming Flames are set to square off against the Cold Spring Springers. A picnic is scheduled beforehand, at 5:30, to honor current archivist John Decker. He has been a stalwart at the museum for 44 years and is the winner of the 2021 Zapp Historian Award.

Decker will throw out the first pitch on the diamond at 7:00. Spectators can see historic gear on display on the concourse, play family games, and win prizes, including tickets to the Minnesota Twins.

Businesses are invited to sponsor the contest. Details are available here. Sign up is required by May 6th.

Tickets for both the picnic and game are on sale now. Call the museum at (320) 253-8424 or email the museum’s Development Director, Amy Degerstrom, at adegerstrom@stearns-museum.org.
