(KNSI) — A man in Waite Park is charged with domestic assault and malicious punishment of a child after allegedly slapping, choking, and stepping on his teen daughter.
The criminal complaint says police began investigating a maltreatment report based on what the girl said at school. The teen said she lives with her dad in Waite Park and was sitting on the steps talking to her mother on the phone when her dad, Mohamed Farah, asked what she was doing. She said he told her to come back inside, yelled at her, and embarrassed her.
She said she got mad and threw her phone, and it hit a mirror and broke. After that, Farah is accused of grabbing her, pushing her into her room, and slapping her on the face, causing her lip to bleed. He then allegedly choked her, grabbed her hair, and stepped on her.
According to the criminal complaint, pictures showed her swollen face and marks on her neck.
Farah admitted to a verbal altercation but denied hurting his daughter. He was released on bail.
