(KNSI) – Beginning in May, Metro Bus in St. Cloud will extend two routes to include Lincoln Ave, Franklin Ave, and the Metro Bus Operations Center. It’s the first route expansion since 2016.

According to a press release from Metro Bus, the changes will add service into the industrial area and add public transportation into Sauk Rapids without increasing service hours. The changes will not affect the total time it takes for a bus to travel a full route.

There will be four bus stops added, two on Lincoln Ave. and two on Franklin Ave. The buses will also stop at the Metro Bus Operations Center. One bus stop on East St. Germain street will be removed so busses can make a left turn onto Lincoln Ave.

The infrastructure for the bus stops was funded by a Community Development Block Grant and installed by the City of St. Cloud.
