(KNSI) – More than 300 Minnesota airmen and their F-16 fighter jets are preparing for deployment. The Duluth-based 148th Fighter Wing will deploy overseas this spring.
According to a press release from the Minnesota National Guard, this deployment is part of a regularly scheduled Air Expeditionary Force deployment and not related to current events in Ukraine.
The 148th Fighter Wing has more than 100 Airmen deployed in various overseas missions and at home in support of Operation Allies Welcome. That mission ensures Afgan personnel have the support they need as they transition to a new life in the U.S.
