(KNSI) — The latest totals released by the Minnesota State Patrol show troopers responded to over 800 crashes and spinouts from 5:00 a.m. Tuesday to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday as snow fell across the state.
The state patrol says there were 546 crashes. Fifty-two of those were injury crashes – one of them serious. It happened on Highway 10 in Anoka about 12:20 Tuesday afternoon. The state patrol says several vehicles were involved.
There were no fatal crashes reported during that time.
The state patrol also responded to 264 spinouts and six jackknifed semis.
A no travel advisory was posted for several federal and state highways in the western part of the state overnight Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. Several roads were also closed, including Interstate 94 and Interstate 29. Heavy snow and high winds caused dangerous travel conditions, including zero visibility, icy patches, along with snow drifting across the roads. That no travel advisory has since been lifted.
