(KNSI) – A St. Cloud lawyer has been appointed by the governor as a judge on Minnesota’s Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals.
Thomas Christenson is a workers’ compensation attorney and shareholder with Quinlivan & Hughes in St. Cloud. Christenson will be replacing the Honorable Gary M. Hall, who retired earlier this year, and he will serve a six-year term expiring on January 3, 2028.
“I am honored to appoint Thomas Christenson to the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals,” said Governor Tim Walz. “Mr. Christenson has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the area of workers’ compensation, and I am confident that he will be a tremendous asset to this Court and the people of Minnesota.”
According to the governor’s office, the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals (WCCA) is an independent agency in Minnesota’s executive branch. The WCCA reviews workers’ compensation cases decided by the Office of Administrative Hearings and the Workers’ Compensation Division at the Department of Labor and Industry.
According to a press release, Christenson is a frequent lecturer and educator on workers’ compensation topics. He serves as President and member of his homeowners’ Association Board of Directors, and he coaches baseball, soccer, mock trial, Odyssey of the Mind, and Destination Imagination teams. Christenson earned his B.A. from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.
