(KNSI) – The pilot of a small plane that crashed near Hutchinson Monday has been identified.
The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office says 61-year-old Dr. Richard Jolkovsky, of Avon, did not survive injuries he sustained when his Cirrus SR-22 aircraft crashed near the Hutchinson airport Monday.
The sheriff’s office says a passenger, 24-year-old Kyle Fiebelkorn of St. Louis Park, is currently hospitalized in stable condition.
The Cirrus SR-22 aircraft is equipped with an emergency parachute, which authorities said did deploy.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will continue investigating the accident.
