(KNSI) — No one was hurt, but a St. Cloud man did receive a citation following a crash Monday morning.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to a car versus semi crash on County Road 75 near 248th Street in St. Augusta about 8:50. The semi was reportedly blocking traffic on County Road 75. When deputies arrived, they said the semi-trailer was blocking both lanes of the road.
Crash investigators say 63-year-old Richard Bennett was driving a Peterbilt semi north on 75 and had signaled he was turning right into a job site to unload supplies. The driver behind him, 22-year-old Henry Fageroos Jr., was unable to slow down in time, and his car hit the passenger side of the semi as it was turning.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says the road was slippery at the time of the crash and cited Fageroos Jr. for failing to drive with due care.
In a press release about the crash, the sheriff’s office offered a reminder to leave extra space during icy conditions and that semis often take wide right-hand turns.
