(KNSI) – Two men were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash near Holdingford. First responders were called around 8:15 on Wednesday morning to River Street and 155th Avenue in Holding Township, about a mile and a half east of Holdingford, for an injury crash between a car and a pickup truck.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says a 1997 Ford Escort driven by 59-year-old Thomas Wunderlich of Rice was heading east on River Street. At the same time, a 2017 Ford F350 driven by 26-year-old Brent Finken of Holdingford was going south on 155th Avenue when the accident happened.

Finken told deputies that he had stopped at the stop sign on River Street and did not remember seeing Wunderlich’s vehicle approaching. As he drove through the stop sign, Finken says Wunderlich struck him.

Both drivers complained of neck pain. Wunderlich was taken to St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance, and Finken was taken by a private vehicle to be evaluated for any injuries. The mens’ current conditions weren’t released.

The sheriff’s office says the cause of the crash is under investigation.
