(KNSI) — The Minnesota Department of Health says there were 11,560 newly reported COVID-19 cases Sunday. That figure is for both newly confirmed cases and newly reported probable cases. That brings the total number of positive cases, including reinfections statewide, to 1,132,246.
There were 105 newly reported confirmed cases and seven probable cases in Benton County, 35 confirmed and three probable in Morrison County, 97 confirmed and 24 probable cases in Sherburne County, 454 confirmed and four probable in Stearns County, and 114 confirmed and 32 probable in Wright County.
The MDH says there were also 32 newly reported COVID-19 related deaths. That included one person in Sherburne County in their 50s, one in Stearns County in their 30s, and one in Wright County in their 80s. The statewide COVID-related death toll now stands at 10,971. That number includes 146 deaths in Benton County, 92 in Morrison County, 161 in Sherburne County, 329 in Stearns County, and 271 in Wright County.
There are 1,059,870 cases no longer in isolation.
The number of breakthrough cases, or known COVID-19 cases in those who are 14 or more days after a person has completed all the recommended doses of their COVID-19 vaccine, not including the booster dose, is at 162,831, or 4.85% of fully vaccinated people. There have also been 1,177 total COVID-19 related deaths in fully vaccinated people. Statewide, there are 3,559,835 people with the completed vaccine series as of January 12th; the last day data was available.
