UPDATE: 4:25 a.m. —The Winter Weather Advisory with expire at 6 p.m. on Friday in Stearns, Douglas and Todd County.

 

(KNSI) – The possibility of heavy snowfall on Friday has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory for central Minnesota.

The advisory goes from midnight on Thursday to midnight on Friday in Stearns, Wright, and Todd County. A winter storm warning has been issued for Meeker and Kandiyohi County.

The St. Cloud area can expect between two and five inches of snow. Temperatures will also fall to around ten degrees.

The highest snowfall is expected along the Buffalo Ridge in southwestern Minnesota, where snow totals could exceed ten inches.

Meteorologists say to plan on slippery road conditions through the morning and evening commute. Officials say to slow down and use caution while traveling.
