(KNSI) — A quick thinking farmer was able to minimize the damage to his farm equipment after a fire started in a storage building on his property Sunday night.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, they were called to the fire in Krain Township at 8:49 p.m. The owner said that a smaller storage building used to store farming equipment and diesel fuel had caught fire. It is believed the fire started in the chimney of the building. He said he removed several pieces of equipment before the blaze had spread too far.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Freeport Fire and Rescue, Albany Fire and Rescue, and Melrose Ambulance all responded.
No injuries were reported.
