(KNSI) – Tickets are on sale for the 40th annual Mardi Gras fundraiser in St. Cloud at the River’s Edge Convention Center. This year’s gala is in-person on January 22nd. Last January’s fundraiser was held virtually due to the pandemic.
The money raised from Mardi Gras will support Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud’s emergency services, including the food shelf, financial assistance program, the Basic Everyday Essential (BEE) program and the Domus Transitional Housing for single women with children. Catholic Charities Marketing and Public Relations Manager Eric Vollen says they are seeing more people coming to Catholic Charities for help.
“These are critically needed programs to the St Cloud area, to members of the community. In our area, Catholic Charities food shelter is continually serving food to persons in need across the St Cloud area and now more than ever, we are seeing a need for food.”
He says the surge in food assistance is being driven by higher prices at the grocery store and a jump in hearing costs. Vollen says the night will have the traditional New Orleans style Mardi Gras theme with some color.
“Ruby is the color red for the 40th anniversary. So, we are bringing out ruby red at the event with tabletops and our stage and other areas covered in red.”
The semi-formal event includes a gourmet dinner, silent auction, games and music by the Fabulous Armadillos. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 320-650-1643.
