(KNSI) – Investigators have turned their findings over to prosecutors after a 14-year-old student allegedly threatened to kill students and staff at Sauk Rapids Middle School.
Sauk Rapids Police Cheif Perry Beise says his department has turned over their findings to the Benton County Attorney’s Office for possible charges. Beise stated he couldn’t say any more about the case due to data privacy laws. He stated more information should be released if charges are filed. Payments could be filed as early as Tuesday.
Beise says they learned of the threat around 11 p.m. on Saturday from a parent and student. KNSI obtained screenshots of the threats, which suggested a shooting Monday morning of eight students and four teachers.
The teenager was arrested. Police say the student is claiming sole responsibility for creating the threatening post.
Superintendent Bradley D. Bergstrom could not be reached for comment.
