(KNSI) — The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is awarding Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. $175,000 from its Job Creation Fund.

The money will help AWG Inc. create 114 qualifying jobs in the first year with an average wage of $23 an hour. According to a press release from DEED, the JCF “provides financial incentives to new and expanding businesses that meet certain job creation and capital investment targets.”

AWG distributes fresh and frozen foods throughout 28 states and will become Coborn’s stores’ primary retailer.

Ground has been broken on land for the 330,000 square foot warehouse facility in the I-94 industrial park. The project will cost around $75 million.

The warehouse is set to open in January 2022.
