(KNSI) — A man shot by officers in Forest Lake over the weekend has died.

Police say they were called to a home about 1:30 Sunday afternoon for a man with a gun who was threatening the caller. He also reportedly made threats against police officers. A press release says the suspect, 47-year-old Bradley George Erickson, fled the scene. Officers gave chase because of the order for protection against him and also due to Erickson being armed.

Police used a pursuit intervention technique or PIT maneuver on Erickson’s car to get him stopped. They say he presented a threat to officers, and shots were fired. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says police rendered first aid at the scene, and Erickson was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.

Erickson died at HCMC Wednesday night.

Body cameras and squad car dash cameras captured portions of the incident. The BCA says the investigation is still ongoing.
