(KNSI) – A woman and her dog escaped their vehicle before it was hit by a train near St. Cloud.
The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Kiyanah Kalla and her dog were headed east on Highway 10 around 4 a.m. on Wednesday when she swerved to miss what she thought was an animal in the road.
The St. Cloud-area woman left the road ended up on the train tracks near 45th Avenue Southeast. As a train approached, Kalla grabbed her dog and got out of the car before the train hit the vehicle.
Kalla and her dog weren’t hurt in the crash.
