(KNSI) – Sartell residents will no longer have to report their water usage to the city thanks to upgraded water meters. The city’s new automatic water meters will allow Sartell Public Works to read meters electronically from the road. Officials say the readings will be more accurate and require less work from the homeowner.
The new water meters will be installed over the next three to six months. Sartell public works will send property owners a letter in the mail with information on scheduling your installation.
Historically, Sartell required property owners to read their water meters and submit their water usage. If a homeowner didn’t report their water usage, Sartell would estimate the amount used and bill accordingly.
